Biography

Born in Ballarat, Daniel George Mackay was a single 26 year old saddler at the time of his enlistment as a Sergeant in Melbourne, Victoria on the 16th of February 1917. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A29 Suevic on the 21st of June 1917.
On the 8th of March 1918, Daniel was wounded in action. He rejoined his battalion on the 13th of September 1918.
Daniel returned to Australia on the 16th of May 1919 and was discharged as medically unfit on the 15th of June 1919.
