Biography

Patrick McInerney enlisted in Donald, Victoria at the age of 44 on the 8th of February 1917. He had been born in Ballarat, Victoria, was Married, and was employed as a Labourer. He volunteered and was stationed with the 21st Battalion, 19th Reinforcement with the Regimental number 6859. He was discharged and Returned to Australia (due to age over limit, he was over 50 years old, instead of 44 as stated) on the 27th of August 1917.

Lucas’s Staffs Appreciation of Brave Men, the original Avenue register, records his name as Patrick McInerny.
