Bertram Edward Neville Murphy enlisted in Melbourne, Victoria at the age of 18 on the 8th of March 1917. He had been born in Essendon, Victoria, was single, and was employed as a Carpenter. He volunteered and was stationed with the 4th Field Company Engineers with the Regimental number 19649. He was discharged and Returned to Australia on the 22nd of August 1919. Tree No. 2880.
