Biography

Edward George Morris was born in Ballarat and was a Labourer by trade when he enlisted in the Machine Gun Company 12, Reinforcement 13 on 31 January 1917 at the age of 40. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A29 Suevic on 21 June 1917. In November he moved to France with the 42nd Battalion. He was hospitalised with a sprained ankle in August 1918, after which he transferred to the 39th Battalion. After the war he left Liverpool on March 17th 1919 and disembarked at Melbourne on April 30th.
