Biography

Percival Richmond Stevenson was born in Ballarat east, Victoria, was single and a Labourer when he enlisted with the 3rd Light Horse Field Ambulance, 21st Reinforcement on 8 July 1915 at the age of 21. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board RMS Mooltan on 22 August 1916. On 25 November 1916 he was appointed as a temporary Driver before being admitted to hospital for dental issues. Upon his discharge from hospital his appointment as a Driver was confirmed. Records of the events of his service leading to his return to Australia on 15 June 1919, indicating that he completed his tour without major incident, illness or injury.
