Biography

Stanley Stevenson was born in Ballarat, Victoria, was married to Mrs Gladys Lilian Stevenson and was a Grocer when he enlisted with the Machine Gun Company 2, Reinforcement 13 on 12 February 1917 at the age of 28. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A29 Suevic on 21 June 1917. According to his records, aside from a few minor incidents of being absent without leave, he completed his tour without major incident, illness or injury, returning home to Australia on 31 January 1918.
