Biography

Born in Ballarat, John Joseph McCormack was a married 24 year old labourer at the time of his enlistment in Keswick, South Australia, on the 8th of July 1915. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT SS Hawkes Bay on the 26th of October 1915. John returned to Australia on the 17th of December 1917, and was discharged as medically unfit on the 6th of February 1918, due to debility.
