Biography

Adam Lindsay Ronaldson was born in Ballarat, Victoria, was single and a Carpenter living in Ballarat when he enlisted in the 1st Pioneer Battalion, 12th Reinforcement on 16 February 1917 at the age of 18. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A29 Suevic on 21 June 1917. In November 1917 he proceeded overseas to France and in September 1918 he transferred to the 7th Battalion before being admitted to hospital sick. He was admitted to the 24th general Hospital in Etaples. In February 1919 he proceeded to England for leave and at that time the war was nearly at a close. He re-embarked for Australia on 13 July 1919, disembarking in Melbourne on 29 August 1919.
