Biography

Robert Sharp was born in Auchteraoder, Scotland, was single and a Labourer when he enlisted in the May 1917 Reinforcements on 27 December 1916 at the age of 35. His unit embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, on board HMAT A68 Anchises on 8 August 1917, disembarking at Liverpool, England, on 2 October 1917. He proceeded overseas to France from Southampton on 10 February 1918 and joined the 4th Field Engineer. In January 1919 he took leave to England, returning from furlough on 13 January and was temporarily appointed the drank of Driver before returning to Australia on 19 June 1919.
