Biography

Born in Ballarat and a military staff clerk by trade, Stanley Nicholas Warburton Grose was a single 23 year old when he enlisted in Melbourne, Victoria on the 26th of March 1917. On his enlistment he was ranked as a Corporal, his
Soldier military staff clerk unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A11 Ascanius on the 11th of May 1917.
On October 12th 1918 he was promoted to Extra Regimental Sergeant.
Stanley was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal on the 3rd of June 1919.
He returned to Australia on October 8th 1919 and was discharged on the 28th of November 1919.
