Biography

Geoffrey Ballantyne Tunbridge (SN 7598) born in Ballarat, was a 20 years old, single medical student only part way through his studies, when he enlisted on August 2nd 1917. He joined the 5th Infantry Battalion, with Regimental No. 7598. Later he transferred to the 5th Field Artillery Brigade. On 14th March 1918 he was killed in action while his unit was supporting the front line trenches. He is buried at Kemmel Chateau Military Cemetery, Belgium.

His brothers Walter and Daryl also served in the AIF and are honoured with trees in the Avenue.
