Biography

George William Cooper enlisted on the 20th of March 1917 in the 57th Battalion, 9th Reinforcement, Australian Imperial Force, with the rank of Private, Number 3374, and was listed as returned to Australia on the 25th of September 1919. His Unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A29 'Suevic' on the 21st of June 1917. Private wounded in action, France on the 8th of August 1918. Private transferred to Australian Corporal Headquarters, Field on the 14th of January 1919. Returned to Australia per 'Port Denison' ex England on the 25th of September 1919. Tree No. 2939
