Biography

Born in Ballarat, Grenville and a Draper by occupation, Leslie James Carr was 22 years and Single when enlisted on the 12th of April 1915 in the No. 1 Australian General Hospital, Australian Imperial Force, with the rank of Private, Number 17A. His Unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board RMS "Mooltan" on the 18th of May 1915. Embarked for return to Australia per "Ceramic" on the 25th of January 1919 and Disembarked on the 23rd of March 1919. Discharged from the 3rd Military District with the Termination of period of enlistment on the 15th of May 1919. Recommendations (Medals and Awards): Military Medal Great courage and inspiring example during evacuation work. (East of Ypres). Recommendation date: 10th of October 1917. Tree No. 2960a
