Albert Edwin Kelly (SN 6833A) was born in Essendon but enlisted at Ballarat on May 30th 1917, having previously served in the Boer War. He was 39 years of age, married, and employed as an agent. He was assigned to the 21st Infantry Battalion and embarked from Melbourne on board the Nestor in November. Following several months training in England, he joined his unit in France in May but was killed in action at Mont St Quentin on September 1st 1918. He is buried in the Peronne Communal Cemetery, France.
