William Paisley was born in Durham, UK, but enlisted from Ballarat on 11th June 1917. He was 39 years old, unmarried, and a boilermaker. He was sent to the Engineer Training Camp at Roseville, Sydney. On 29th July 1917 while working on a roofing project he was struck by lightning and killed. He is buried in the Rockwood Cemetery, NSW, Australia.
