Biography

Edmond Goulbourne Pawson was born in Tallarook, VIC and was a Butcher when he enlisted in the Australian Reserve Park 1, Company 10 on 20 August 1914 at the age of 20. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A26 Armadale on 20 October 1914. According to his records he escaped any serious injury or illness, although he was admonished for being absent without leave from 1000 to 0430 on the night of 31 January to 1st February 1917. On 14 March 1917 he was attached to the 4th Division Train and was appointed as a Driver. He returned to Australia on 8 October 1918.
