Biography

Thomas Elevious Ellefsen (SN 1331) was born at Yarram but was living at Alfredton when he enlisted on October 1st 1914. At the time he was a 24 year old, unmarried farm labourer. He joined the 7th Battalion with which he sailed from Melbourne on board the Clan MacGilliivray in early February 1915. His first taste of action would have been the Gallipoli landing on April 25th where, sadly, he was killed. He has no known grave and is remembered on the Australian National Memorial at Lone Pine, at Gallipoli. He was 25 years of age.
