Born in Ballarat, Cecil Henry Trethowan was a single 21 year old clerk at the time of his enlistment in Melbourne, Victoria on the 27th of March 1918. His unit embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, on board HMAT A18 Wiltshire on the 10th of June 1918.
On May 3rd 1917, Cecil was wounded in action. He rejoined his battalion on the 23rd of October 1917.
On the 25th of August 1919 Cecil returned to Australia and was discharged on the 9th of September 1919 due to the termination of his enlistment period.
