Biography


Born in Ballarat, David Ritson Mark was a single 19 year old labourer at the time of his enlistment in Melbourne, Victoria on the 24th of June 1915. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A40 Ceramic on the 23rd of November 1915.
On the 18th of May 1915, David was promoted to Extra Regimental Corporal. On the 5th of January 1918, he was promoted to Extra Regimental Bombardier.
On the 21st of May 1919 David reverted to the rank of Gunner.
David returned to Australia on the 15th of December 1919 and was discharged on the 28th of February 1920 due to the termination of his enlistment period.
