Biography

Leslie Joseph Oringe was born in Creswick, VIC and was a French Polisher by trade when he enlisted in the Divisional Ammunition Column 3, Reinforcement 2 on 10 November 1915 at the age of 25. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A67 Orsova on 1 August 1916. While serving with the 3rd Divisional Ammunition Column he was constantly in and out of hospital suffering from jaundice, and was eventually returned to Australia on board the Euripides in July 1917. He was discharged as æmedically unfit' on October 22nd, 1917 and died on May 4th, 1918.
