Biography

Albert Davey (SN 5518) was born in Melbourne but enlisted in Ballarat on April 15th 1916. At that time, he was a married 31 year old miner. He left Melbourne on board the Ulysses in October and joined the 1st Australian Tunnelling Company at the end of January 1917. He served with them until he was killed in action on November 4th 1918, just a week before the Armistice was signed. He was 33 years of age and is buried in Le Rejet-de-Beaulieu Cemetery, France.
