Biography

John Boyd Corbet (SN 12791) born in Ballarat, was a married 32 year old accountant when he enlisted in Ballarat on January 25th 1916. Assigned to the Australian Army Service Corps, he embarked aboard the Borda on October 20th and sailed to England. He trained and served in England until April 1918 when he was deployed to France as a driver with the 5th Motor Transport Company. He served out the war without incident and returned to Australia aboard the Barambah, disembarked on October 25th 1919 and was discharged on December 9th.
