Biography

Born in Ballarat, Victoria and an accountant by trade, John Boyd Corbet was 32 years and married when enlisted on the 25th of February 1916 in the 14th Battalion, September Reinforcements, Australian Imperial Force, with the rank of Private, Number 12791. His Unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A64 'Demosthenes' on the 29th of December 1915. Reverts to ranks from Driver to Private on the 1st of June 1917 at soldier's own request. Detached to A.I.F. Headquarters under A.I.F. order. Embarked return to Australia per 'Barambah' on the 10th of April 1919. Disembarked on the 25th of October 1919. Discharged from the 3rd Military District on the 9th of December 1917. Tree No. 3097
