Biography

Albert Ernest Anderson (SN 1707) born in Talbot, was an 18 year old labourer when he enlisted at Ballarat on October 12th 1914. Assigned to the 8th Infantry Battalion he embarked aboard the Wiltshire on April 14th 1915 and came ashore at Gallipoli in late May. After a month he was evacuated suffering from tonsilitis before a recurrence of a boyhood ear problem. He was returned to Australia aboard the Kanowna and was discharged on May 15th 1916 ‘medically unfit, otitis media’.
