Biography

William O'Shannessy was born in Kingower, VIC and was a Labourer when he enlisted in the Australian Army Service Corps on 31 July 1917 at the age of 29. He was given the rank of Driver with the A.A.S.C. and with the 2nd Division Train until 13 December 1917 when, at his own request, he reverted to the rank of Private. He returned to Australian on the Mahia on 4 June 1919.
