Henry Beattie enlisted in Melbourne, Victoria at the age of 24 on the 31st of January 1916. He had been born in Melbourne, Victoria, was Married, and was employed as an Tailor. He volunteered and was stationed with the 3rd Squadron of the Australian Flying Corps with the Regimental number 1725. He was discharged and Returned to Australia on the 6th of May 1919.
