Biography

Robert Ford Bray (SN 5061) born in Ballarat, was a 43 year old diamond driller when he enlisted in Perth on January 10th 1916. He embarked aboard the Shropshire on March 31st and in July he reached France to serve with the 11th Infantry Battalion. He came through the war without significant illness or injury and returned to Australia aboard the Somali, disembarked at Fremantle on July 8th 1919 and was discharged on August 22nd.

His brother Albert also served in the AIF and is honoured with a tree in the Avenue.
