Biography

Archibald Black (SN 1014) was a 28 year old miner from Scarsdale when he enlisted in Adelaide on January 21st 1916. On June 9th he embarked from Adelaide aboard the Afic to serve with the 43rd Battalion. His natural leadership and dedication to duty led him through a series of promotions and eventually a Commission to Lieutenant on November 24th 1917. He left England for his return to Australia July 23rd 1919 aboard the Main.
