Biography

Edward Theophilus Fisher (SN 2213) was born in Ballarat, but enlisted on March 24th 1915, from Ravensthorpe, WA, when he was 43 years old, unmarried and a mine owner. He joined the 16th Infantry Battalion and embarked aboard the Wandilla at the end of June. He reached Gallipoli ahead of the desperate fighting of the August offensive and was killed in action at Gallipoli on August 8th 1915. He has no known grave, but he is commemorated on the Australian Memorial at Lone Pine. He was 44 years of age.
