Biography

John Walter Mossfield, a Vaudeville artist born in Ballarat and living in NSW, enlisted in the 17th Battalion, 21st Reinforcement on 7 August 1917 at the age of 30. He was married to Mrs E Mossfield of L09 Albion Street, East Sydney, New South Wales. His unit embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, on board HMAT A14 Euripides on 31 October 1917. He returned to Australia 22 August 1919 and received a medical discharge on 12 November 1919
