Biography

Thomas Howell, a Printer from Ballarat, enlisted in the 28th Battalion, 21st Reinforcement on 21 May 1917 at the age of 34 and single. His unit embarked from Albany, Western Australia, on board HMAT A16 Port Melbourne on 24 July 1917. On 6 March 1918 he was reassigned to the 51st Battalion. During this time he married Alice L Gillatt on 18 October 1918. He returned to Australia 21 June 1919
