Biography

Daniel Mackay, a Pastrycook from Ballarat East, enlisted in the Army Medical Corps, August 1916 Reinforcements on 8 July 1915 at the age of 18. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A14 Euripides on 11 September 1916. On 3 March 1917 he transferred to the 1st Field Ambulance with which he remained until he returned to Australia 11 May 1919.
