Biography

William Royal Selkirk was born in Allendale, but enlisted from Ballarat on 10th November 1915. He was 19 years old, unmarried and employed as a coach builder. He joined the 4th Light Horse Regiment, with Regimental No. 2380. On 17th November 1917 he died of wounds inflicted during the fighting at Daur, Mesopotamia, and is buried in the Beersheba War Cemetery, Israel.
