Biography

Born in Ballarat, George John Illman was a single 27 year old clerk at the time of his enlistment on the 19th of August 1914. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A18 Wiltshire on the 19th of October 1914.
George returned to Australia on the 22nd of January 1919 and was discharged due to demobilisation on the 23rd of March 1919.
