Harry Moseley (SN 1589) was born in England and was a 22 year old gardener when he enlisted in Melbourne on December 7th 1914. Assigned to the 7th Infantry Battalion he embarked aboard the Runic on February 25th 1915 and saw action at Gallipoli from May. As the Gallipoli campaign ended, he was evacuated to Mudros suffering from influenza. He moved on to France and was slightly wounded in May 1916 before being transferred to the 2nd Field Ambulance in October. In May 1917 he was evacuated from France suffering from trench fever but rejoined his unit in October. As the war was nearing its end he was granted ‘1914 leave’ and returned to Australia on the Berrima, disembarked at Melbourne on January 2nd 1919 and was discharged on April 29th.
