Reginald Smythe enlisted in Melbourne, Victoria, at the age of 22 on the 13th of February 1915. He had been born in Ballarat, Victoria was single, and was employed as a Clerk. He volunteered and was stationed with the 22nd Battalion, B Company with the Regimental number 464. He was Killed in Action on the 5th of August 1916. He has no known grave, but he is commemorated at the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France. Tree No. 3203.
