William McKenna enlisted in Ballarat, Victoria, at the age of 25 on the 19th of December 1914. He had been born in Melbourne, Victoria, was single, and was employed as a Labourer. He volunteered and was stationed with the 8th Light Horse Regiment, 5th Reinforcement with the Regimental number 907. He was discharged and Returned to Australia on the 8th September 1919.
