Daniel Bradby (SN 7973) required the consent of his parents when he enlisted as a 19 year old clerk on July 12th 1915. He trained with the Australian Army Service Corps then embarked on the Bakara on November 5th. In June 1916 he joined the 5th Division Train in France and served through the war without major incident. He returned to Australia on the Devanha, disembarking at Melbourne on June 23rd 1919.
