Biography

Jack Trembath was born in Ballarat, Victoria, was single and a Tailor when he enlisted with the 14th Australian General Hospital on 24 July 1915 at the age of 21. Most of his service during 1916 was spent proving medical aid to soldiers on Hospital Transport Ships, resulting in a multitude of embarkation dates from around Australia ranging from 29 July to 19 September. Eventually he transferred to the 3rd Light Horse Field Ambulance. According to a medical report dated 8 May 1919, while in Cairo, he began suffering from pyrexia, complaining of headaches, weakness and giddiness. He returned to Australia 17 July 1919.
