Biography

Born in Ballarat, Victoria and a Labourer by Occupation, Albert George Crees was 20 years and single when enlisted on the 12th of July 1915 in the 24th Battalion, 4th Reinforcement, Australian Imperial Force, with the rank of Private, Number 2130. His Unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A20 'Hororata' on the 27th of September 1915. Sent to Hospital sick, France on the 19th of November 1916 and transferred to England ex 2nd ADBD Havre; admitted to Hospital sick ex 2nd A.D.B.D., Etaples on the 20th of February 1917. Disembarked at Southampton from France D.A.H. on the 19th of June 1917. Returned to Australia per 'Swakopmund' on the 15th of June 1919. Disembarked on the 2nd of August 1919. Discharged from the 3rd Military District on the 1st of October 1919 with the Termination of Period of enlistment. Tree No. 3339
