Leslie Clarence Lambert (SN 1379) born at Kyneton, was a 20 year old jeweller when he enlisted in Melbourne on November 19th 1914. Posted to the 5th Infantry Battalion, he embarked aboard the Clan MacGillivray on February 2nd 1915. He served at Gallipoli until influenza forced his evacuation to hospital at Mudros in July. He was returned to Australia aboard the Kyarra, disembarked at Melbourne on July 17th and was discharged ‘medically unfit, weak leg’ on October 28th 1915.
