Biography

Born in Clunes, Victoria and a lecturer in Technical Schools by trade, Wilfred Lawson Allen was only 23 years and single when enlisted on the 20th of August 1915 in the 37th Battalion, D Company, Australian Imperial Force, with the rank of Lieutenant and AWM Embarkation Roll number 23/54/1. His Unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A34 'Persic' on the 3rd of June 1916. On the 1st of May 1916 appointed to the A.I.F. as Lieutenant. On the 30th of August 2016 promoted to the rank of Captain. On 21st January 1917 sentence to take rank and precedence in the Australian Imperial Force as if his appointment as Captain were dated 21st of January 2017 and to be severely reprimanded. Conduct to the prejudice etc. near Armentieres. On 21st of January 1917 Wilfrid was sentenced by forfeiture of seniority. On the 12th of October 2018 Wilfred was transferred from 37th Battalion to the 39th Battalion. On the 6th of December 1919 resigned appointment in London the A.I.F. being demobilized. On the 26th of January 1920 appointment terminated in the Australian Imperial Force, England. Tree No: 3370
