George Reginald Mounsey was born in Ballarat, and on 30th October 1914 he enlisted there. He was 18 years old, single and trained as a brass turner. He was accepted into the Battalion, with Regimental No. 1358 (originally 1382). During his service he was promoted Lance Corporal, and transferred to 5th Infantry Battalion. On 9th May 1915 he died on wounds received at Cape Helles. His name is on the Lone Pine Memorial, Gallipoli, Turkey.
