Biography

Born in Talbot, Victoria, Arthur Ernest Kiel was a single 35 year old farmer at the time of his enistment in Melbourne, Victoria on the 22nd of November 1915. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A13 Katuna on the 9th of March 1916.
On the 27th of April 1917 Arthur was promoted to Corporal. On the 31st of May 1919, he was promoted to Extra Regimental Quartermaster Sergeant, but still retained the rank of Corporal.
Arthur returned to Australia on the 22nd of January 1920, and was discharged due to the termination of his enlistment period on the 5th of April 1920.
