Biography

John Baden Powell Waight (SN 61228) from Wendouree, was an 18 year old grocer when he enlisted on April 22nd 1918. He trained at Broadmeadows with the 10th General Service Reinforcements before leaving Australia on August 31st aboard the Barambah to sail to England. On November 14th 1918 he was allotted to the 6th Battalion, but by then the war was over. He returned to Australia on the Ceramic, disembarking in Melbourne on September 27th 1919.
