Biography

George Daniel Primrose (SN 1970) was a 25 year old draper when he enlisted in Wangaratta on June 12th 1915. He embarked aboard the Anchises on August 26th 1915 and served through the last two months of the Gallipoli campaign with the 24th Battalion. In March 1916 he reached France where, in October, he was transferred to the Australian Army Postal Corps with whom he served through the remainder of the war. He avoided battle wounds but did have two extended periods in hospital due to illness. He returned to Australia on the Konigan Luise and disembarked at Melbourne on February 4th 1920.
