Sylvia Martha Gribble was born in Clunes in 1892 and completed her nursing training at the Ballarat Base Hospital in June 1915. According to the Ballarat Hospital Honour Roll, she enlisted on August 10th 1915 although no military record can be found for her. In any event, her service would have been short lived as she married in March 1916 which would have made her ineligible to remain in the Australian Army Nursing Service.
