Biography

Stanley Thomas Wilson (SN 357, 3622) was born in Ballarat and attended the Dana Street State School. He was 19 years old when he first enlisted in Ballarat on January 7th 1916, but he was discharged three weeks later at the direction of a Medical Board. After his marriage to Alice, he re-enlisted on November 1st 1916 and embarked from Melbourne in May 1917 aboard the Shropshire, reaching France in February 1918. He was severely wounded on May 14th 1918 and evacuated to hospital in England where he died of his wounds on July 4th 1918. He is buried at Brookwood Military Cemetery, UK.
