Biography

Leslie John Primrose (Lt.) was Ballarat born and educated at Mt Pleasant State School and Ballarat High School before becoming a teacher. On August 2nd 1915 he enlisted from Bendigo where he was a secondary school teacher, joining the Australian Flying Corps as a Lieutenant. He embarked from Melbourne in January 1917 on board the Omrah and underwent further pilot training in England before crossing to the battlefields of the Western Front in February 1918. On June 4th 1918 he died when his plane crashed into a hillside in the Claremont area of France. He is buried in Catenoy French National Cemetery France.
