Edward Ellis was born in Ballarat, Victoria was single and was employed as a Railway Clerk. He enlisted in Ballarat, Victoria at the age of 19. He volunteered and was stationed with the 6th Field Ambulance the Regimental number 3252. He died of wounds on the 28th of September 1917. He is buried in the Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery in Plot 2, Row D, Grave 24 . Tree number 3410.
