Stanley Samuel Boyd (SN 442) born at Geelong, was a 31 year old married fireman when he enlisted in Melbourne on December 15th 1916. On February 19th 1917 he embarked aboard the Ballarat and in May he reached France to serve with the 1st Australian Light Rail Operating Company. He completed his service without major incident and returned to Australia on the Konigin Luise, disembarked at Melbourne on August 13th 1919 and was discharged on September 20th.
